(8vo) 23x16 cm (9x6¼"), original pictorial olive cloth decorated in brown and gilt, all edges gilt. Early reprint.

With 1889 presentation inscription from the Sacramento Business College on the front flyleaf. First published 2 years prior. Hutchings, a pioneer of the tourist industry in Yosemite and one of the first to visit there in winter, was Guardian to the Valley & the Mariposa Big Tree Grove from 1880-1884. Cowan p.299: Currey & Kruska 175; Farquhar 18d.

Condition

Light soiling to cloth with rubbing to extremities; hinges cracked, folding map with a few closed tears to margins, longer closed tear at stub affecting about 2" of the map with no loss; very good.
