Description
1637 FINE Binding Works of Torsellino Historiarum Libri X Thomas Jefferson
Orazio Torsellino was a 16th-century Italian Jesuit historian known for his abundance of letters and books. He wrote on the history of the world, the history of Christianity, as well as grammar. His most famous book was ‘Epitome Historiarum Libri X’, a book which was notably included in Thomas Jefferson’s library. (Sowerby).
This early 17th-century printing of the works of Torsellini includes ‘Historiarum Libri X’ as well as a continuation of his ‘Epitomes’ and ‘Res Memorandae’. The final two works have separate pagination and registers. And while the final work includes a dated title page of 1637, the general title page is lacking.
