Life-Sized Portrait of a Dignified Elderly Gentleman with full white beard and rugged features, in an overcoat with scarf, his gnarled left hand resting on a walking stick, set against a blue-grey field, unsigned, in a gold molded frame with linen liner, matted and glazed, OS: 45 1/2" x 37", SS: 30" x 22 1/2". Good condition.
The man bears a passing resemblance to Naturalist John Muir (1838-1914).
