A Four-Piece Edward, John, & William Barnard Silver Tea Service, London, 1847 Marks to teapot: (lion passant), (leopard's head), (duty mark), M, EJ&WB 11 inches (27.9 cm) (tallest, coffee pot) 73.35 troy ounces The service comprising: 1 coffee pot with hinged lid; 1 teapot with hinged lid; 1 open creamer; 1 waste bowl. 4 Total The service monogrammed with N to the body of each, and the teapot with presentation inscription to underside "Presented to MR. JOHN NEWBY SENR by the Owners In testimony of their esteem and appreciation of his zealous and careful attention to their interests as Managing Owner of the Ship ISABELLA HARNETT Maryport, Octr 25, 1848."

Faint scratches throughout commensurate with age, polishing, and use with minor scattered dents and pin dents to undersides of each piece, rubbing to feet of each piece indicative of shelf wear, otherwise service presents well.
