Original orange cloth, lettered in black on spine (small stain on front cover); pictorial dust jacket (some wear along edges and folds and a few nicks reinforced with tape on verso, small stain on verso on front panel). Provenance: Risley (bookplate).FIRST EDITION recounting the 13 years Miller spent living along the rugged California Coast south of Carmel. Miller compares Bosch's painting and its symbolic depiction of the delights of Paradise to his time in Big Sur, where he found his own feelings of peace and comfort.
