Description

Title: Vintage Pre Civil War Stars Oak Reel Applique Antique Quilt ~BORDERS

Provenance: This MAGNIFICENT cotton green and white oak reel and stars quilt is hand pieced, hand appliqued, and hand quilted, with nice sawtooth and vine borders. It measures 72" X 94" and is in excellent condition, with light color loss in a small area of one star piece (see photo), and some background age staining (photo). The quilt feels strong and sturdy overall. The quilting is SUPERB, with quilt straight line, feathered, and other designs quilted throughout at an even 7-8 stitches to the inch. The back is white, the hand stitched binding is early green, and the batting is thin. You can see cotton seed residue inside when you hold the quilt up to the light.
