Frank Stanley Herring, a portrait painter, was born March 20, 1894, in Pen Argyl, Pennsylvania, and lived in New York City and Milledgeville, Georgia. In New York City, he taught at the Grand Central School of Art.Among his teachers were Charles Hawthorne and George Bridgman,In addition to the High Museum of Art, his works are in the collection of Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville, and the Mecklenburg Court House, Charlotte, North Carolina.
