A FRENCH JAPONISME GILT BRONZE ORMOLU MOUNTED YELLOW CRACKLE GLAZE LIDDED JAR, 1870-1900, the yellow crackle glaze, covered pot, attributed to the Qing Dynasty (1644-1912), Guangxu Period (1875-1908), mounted with a fruiting finial, over a bell form lid, within a bead, nd rope twist edge, ending in a ruyi mushroom form canopy, over a flared rim and pinched neck, and lined interior, above a circular pot belly body, flanked by guardian lion mask mounts with integral stylized smoke handles, mounted to a repeating circular bead and relief laurel leaf and berry wreath socle, raised on a Neoclassical style concave corner, square base. Height: 12.00"
Condition
Crackle glaze has some damages on lid, with mild losses and deep cracking, some surface scratches, patina on ormolu mounts throughout, dust debris, but overall in fair to good condition, wear commensurate with age and use.
