The original ink illustration for Good Housekeeping, June of 1917, signed lower left.
Rose O'Neill called her characters Kewpies, short for cupids who, as seen here, did wonderful deeds like saving up smiles to cheer up the dreary.

Image measures 21.25 x 13.5 inches on a 22.5 x 15.5 inch sheet in a 28.75 x 21.75 inch frame.

Provenance: The Estate of Frankie Van Johnson of Kansas City, Missouri and then to Robert Allan Haas.
