Rose O'Neill called her characters Kewpies, short for cupids who, as seen here, did wonderful deeds like saving up smiles to cheer up the dreary.
Image measures 21.25 x 13.5 inches on a 22.5 x 15.5 inch sheet in a 28.75 x 21.75 inch frame.
Provenance: The Estate of Frankie Van Johnson of Kansas City, Missouri and then to Robert Allan Haas.
