Please review the description in the terms and conditions to see the missions he was on. This auction includes a wide variety of rare ephemera. Colonel Richard Dick M. Cooper was a prominent Vietnam pilot who later became involved with the aerospace program right around the time when the UNITED STATES was landing on the moon. His study material and personal NASA notes are included here. It appears he was in charge of the test operations at Edward Air Force base and later became a Colonel. In his lots you will find incredible and hard to find military items such as 389th aerial footage of vietnam fights, Colonel Cooper's study material from pilot school to NASA and beyond, his uniforms medals and awards, and rare top secret documents such as orders. You will also see maps of Vietnam with bomb destinations drawn on them. There are some incredible photographs of 555th, 389th, test pilots and more. There are some historical names mixed in this lot such as Dick scobee (challenger), Ellison (columbia), Overmyer, Bobko, and just any big name you could imagine from mid 1960s to the late 1990s all the way up to his retirement ceremony. He was a career military man USAF!! The NASA items are incredible as you will see hand written notes, photographs of astronauts, mission plans, guides, parking permits for the shuttle landing, phone number to mission control, and more.As the DCO of Advanced Manned Vehicles there is a ton of very cool, very rare and historically significant and sensitive information. You will even see hand drawn patch designs done by the crew as a team building exercise for NASA. A lot of Edwards AFB items are also mixed in such as photographs, even coffee mugs and vintage t-shirts. Some stuff is just chilling such as when Boeing calls and leaves a message for Dick Scobee (Astronaut), possible orbital charts, and more. This stuff may never be seen again. It is rare to find a career worth of items belonging to a man that was not only a Colonel but someone who was in place during a very important time in history such as Vietnam and not to mention NASA is trying to get to the moon in 1969 (see the aerospace school calendar July 21, 1969) its in here. Just to get an idea of the type of stuff Cooper was involved in ill copy a list I found mixed in somewhere.- Crew, B-47-Tactical Reconnaissance RF-101, Vietnam, Thailand-Tactical Fighters,F-4, Da Nang, Vietnam-Student, USAF Test Pilot School-Tactical Fighters, F-4, Udorn, Thailand-Staff USAF Test Pilot School-Deputy Chief Office Advanced Manned Vehicles, AF flight Test Center, Edwards AFB-Deputy Chief USOMC, Air Operations Office, Yemen Arab Republic Coincidentally Coopers father (Merian) was the creator of the original 1933 King Kong. I put all of the king kong items in one lot. Within that lot you will find copyright lawsuits, court documents, letters from dad, and even photos of a huge "million dollar" King Kong which i believe to be a prop from the sequel in the 1970s. The estate of BILL WINTER is also included here. Within his items you will find one of a kind rock n roll memorabilia such as candid photographs of Curt Cobain,Eddie Vedder, Pearl Jam, Brad Pitt, Neil Young,Prince etc, rare handbills, psychedelic concert posters of those like Bill Graham, Wes Wilson for Grateful Dead, Jimi Hendrix, Iron Butterfly and more. You will see 2 guitars sign at the LA music awards in 1999 by 12+ artists including Slash, Paul Rogers, Joe Walsh, and more. Mixed in is rare personal items such as hand written lyrics and album cover artwork. Bill seemed to be very Close to Jackson Browne to the point where there is 1 lot with photos of Browne and Daryl Hannah and Bill's wedding. This is all rare rock n roll history.
