Description

Pair of French Neo-Grec Gilt-Bronze Candelabra

mid-19th century, the elaborate bases decorated with The Three Graces and pierced scrollwork, the standards with figures of "Flora" supporting pierced and scrolled candle arms, decorated with flowers and terminating in drip pans and candle sockets.
h. 25-3/4", dia. 13-1/2"

Condition

Two of the bobeches are different. The bolt in one arm is loose and/or stripped. The central figures of "Flora" and the top candle cups have been drilled, presumably for electrification. Candelabra are not electrified or currently wired. One candle arm has a small soldered repair at the standard. Both candelabra exhibit some light oxidation, accretions and surface scratches - all of which are to be expected with age and use. Structurally sound and in overall good condition.
