Item Details
Description
A hard paste porcelain bowl with cover, the body with various hand painted floral bouquets, the green ground with gilt decoration, the lid with a lemon-form knop, the interior of the bowl and of the lid painted with floral decoration. Possibly German, 19th century.

This bowl can be seen in archival photos taken at Frank & Nancy Sinatra’s first Los Angeles home ‘Warm Valley’ (also the name of their last residence in Hasbrouck Heights) located on Valley Spring Lane in Toluca Lake. The bowl can also been seen on the living room coffee table in images taken at the Sinatra’s Holmby Hills estate at 320 N. Carolwood Drive.

A covered dish, almost certainly by the same maker and possibly from the same service, catalogued as “unmarked, probably Worcester, late 18th/early 19th century,” sold at Brunk Auctions, Asheville, North Carolina, July 13, 2008, lot 656 (price realized $1,200 inclusive of buyer’s premium).
