Tombeau Louis XV chest of drawers made by cabinetmaker Nicolás Petit (Chaource 1732–1791) signed on the side N PETIT and JME.
The first identifying the name of the cabinetmaker and the second of the craftsmen's guild in Paris. Marquetry in rosewood and palorosa wood with gilded bronze applications and original Rouge Royal marble top from Belgium.

Nicolas Petit was one of the leading cabinet makers in 18th-century France. He received the title of master cabinetmaker in 1761 and opened the workshop in Paris on rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine where he would carry out orders even for Versailles.
