Description
Henry Mosler (New York, Ohio, France, 1841 - 1920) 18" H x 15" W oil on canvas titled, "Black Lace." Unsigned. Henry's family moved to Cincinnati in 1851. He was first an illustrator for Harper's Weekly during the Civil War. After the Civil War, he went to Europe and studied art. He returned to Cincinnati in 1866 and became a very successful portraitist. He moved to New York in 1894 and opened a studio in Carnegie Hall. Frame 24 1/2" H x 22" W. Relined. Under UV light a couple of small spots of inpainting, no harm.
