Egypt, Ptolemaic period, ca. 332 to 30 BCE. A small wheel-thrown terracotta cup of a creamy-beige hue with a flat base, a globular body with gently-tapering walls, a deep interior cavity, and a thin rim. More than a dozen hairline striations adorn the shoulder and give it a nice, textured surface for one to easily grip. Size: 3.875" W x 2.875" H (9.8 cm x 7.3 cm).
Provenance: ex-Davis collection, Houston, Texas, acquired before 2013 from various auction houses in London and New York

Surface wear and abrasions commensurate with age, minor nicks to base, walls, and rim, and some light roughness across most surfaces, otherwise intact and very good. Nice earthen deposits throughout.
