Greece, Hellenistic Period, ca. 3rd to 1st century BCE. A hollow-molded terracotta female goddess figure seated on an integral throne. She hold her arms gently atop her thighs and wears an ankle-length himation. Her sensitive visage is composed of faded features such as ovoid eyes, a petite nose, and thin lips, all framed by neatly-arranged bangs and capped with a veil. Covered in pale-orange slip, this is a charming example of fine Hellenistic pottery! Size: 1.875" W x 4.25" H (4.8 cm x 10.8 cm).
