Near East, Islamic, ca. 18th to 19th century CE. A gorgeous Islamic jar, mold-blown with near-transparent glass of soft turquoise hues. The flat base boasts concentric circles surrounding a rough pontil scar as well as lightly-raised feet on three of the four corners, tall walls accentuated with shallow ovoid frames impressed in the center of each, a sloping shoulder tapering to a squat neck, and a flared rim with an out-folded lip. The thick glass used for this composition suggest this vessel was created for utilitarian purposes. Size: 3.125" W x 5.1" H (7.9 cm x 13 cm).
