This is a large world map, detailing the key events towards the end of World War II. This example shows ad for National Gas and Oil Co. Insets throughout the map indiate events by date and location in 1945 and some in 1944. Previous to this 28th edition, countries are color coded by their chosen sides, This only carries four colors -- red for Allied Powers, orange for USA and some of the Allies, yellow for USSR and some others of the Allies, and white for neutral countries. Red is also used for occupied Axis territories. Larger insets include pictures of Eisenhower and MacArthur, Iwo Jima flag raising, Atomic bom mushroom, Pearl Harbor attack and map of Japan. Both V-E and V-J Days are prominently shown. There are additional events noted and dated on the two sides for the two primary theatres of War.
