Description
Qing Dynasty Blue Underglazed White Porcelain "Double Dragons" Yuhuchunping Vase (From a Vietnamese Royal Family) - This Yuhuchunping vase is of typical form with a straight cylindrical neck and a bottom-heavy globular body on a short foot ring. The vase is elaborately decorated in underglazed blue with a pair of dragons in pursuit of a flaming pearl, amid a background of stylized clouds and smoke wisps along with a sea of crashing waves and leaves around the neck. The bottom of the vase bears a double circle blue underglazed mark typical of the Kangxi period when the use of nianhao (imperial reign marks) was suspended. This piece comes from the estate of a Vietnamese Royal Family (the family now lives in the United States, and wishes to remain private as they still have relatives living in Vietnam). Measurements: 9"H x 4"W.
