Description
Dimensions: Height: 8.47 inch x Width/Diameter: 5.32 inch x Length/Depth: 5.32 inch. Dimensions in Centimeter: 21.5 cm x 13.5 cm x 13.5 cm. C. 15/16th century. Chinese Ming Dynasty Doucai. The surface of the vase is painted with colorful winding curly floral vine patterns, two different-colored dragons are flying and chasing in it, the lower part is painted with a cobalt blue abstract wave pattern. The upper part of the vase body is painted with stylized winding curly colored floral patterns, surrounding several ancient characters. The neck of the vase is painted with a circle of ancient Chinese traditional auspicious patterns, colored stylized long grass leaf pattern painted on the upper part. Dragon is the symbol of the Emperor, the Son of Heaven, eternity, Yang and Yin, male vigor and fecundity, the wave pattern which is known to be the abode of dragons. The Under-base bears a reign mark, a six underglaze blue script characters reign mark, enclosed within double rectangle frames, Made In The Years of Chenghua Reign Period of The Great Ming Dynasty(1465-1487). There is a "Wan" mark on the periphery. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous, the shape is uniformly proportioned. Without overlap the outlines of the design, well draw, clear, subtle, distinct, and the shape is uniformly proportioned. The Lines of the drawings are clear, the light and dark shades are subtle. The colors are harmonious, elegant and exquisite, the composition is sophisticated, simply a feast for the eye. The porcelain conformed all required specimen to be high valued Chinese porcelain wares, with finest material, the whiteness, the glaze, and the Drawing. Doucai, It is a colored porcelain decoration process combining underglaze blue and white and over-glaze decoration. Created in the Ming Dynasty Xuande years(1426-1435), the Dou Cai during the Ming dynasties Chenghua(1465-1487) was most admired, Kangxi, Yongzheng and Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty reached its peak(1661-1799).
