A FINE AND IMPORTANT IMPERIAL RUSSIAN HORSE GUARD REGIMENT OFFICER'S MODEL 1889 HELMET WITH EAGLE. Tombac body, sloped front visor and 'lobster tail' rear visor, trimmed in silver. Obverse with officer's quality silver and enamel Guard Star worked in silver and enamel. Helmet surmounted with a finely sculpted gilt double-headed crowned eagle with outspread wings and St. George coat of arms on breast mounted on a scalloped cruciform base. Complete with metal cockade in the Romanov colors and gold tone chin scales. Interior lined in white silk and with a leather sweatband.
