In Gem condtition, it is the second rarest Denver Mint Buffalo of the 1920s after the 1927-D. Well struck examples can be found, but softness of strike on the Buffalo's horn and tail can also be seen on a significant number of mint state survivors. Luster is usually pretty good on this issue with a semi-frosty/satiny look.
