Attributed to Jessie Preston (American, 1873-1942) A Three Arm Lotus Flower Candelabrum, Bronze, unsigned. Three arm Lotus flower and lily pad motif on three intertwining arms rising from a circular base with a stylized wave and three koi fish design. Provenance: Acquired by owner's family in Chicago early 20th century.
Jessie Preston was a Chicago metalsmith, active between the years of 1900 to 1918. Although she was primarily known as an Arts & Crafts designer, her pieces have an undeniable Art Nouveau quality. Preston's speciality was creating elaborate florifom candelabra, but she is also recognized for her candelsticks, lamps and jewelry.
