Description
The upper left corner section of a flag is known as the \"canton\" section of the flag and is sometimes flown on its own, especially in nautical or maritime settings. This is the US Civil Flag, a federal eagle with 13 stars in an arching pattern over its head. It was flown by the US Revenue Cutter Service during its existence between 1894 and 1915. This flag has remnants of the edges of its original vertical red and white stripes and a red field on the far right side, but was cut down and only the canton remains. Double-sided, separately applied stars. Measures approximately 43\" x 28\" with considerable wear below the leaves in the eagle\'s talons. Good
