Original color (light). A clear, strong print; steel plate engraving. Ornate, decorative margin, trimmed into the margin; map extends into and beyond the margin in several places. Small tear in bottom margin. On the top, the longitude is indicated “east from Greenwich”; on the bottom, the longitude is indicated “east from Washington.” Individual districts are labeled, extensive railways, major roads, and large towns are indicated.
Extends from Gilgit in Kashmir to to the southern tip of Ceylon (Sri Lanka), with inset of the southern part of Burma (including the Irrrawaddy Delta and Tenasserim provinces.
On the reverse side of the paper (labeled page 133) are three columns of descriptive text headed “Oceanica—Australasia.”
