The four figures in this collection, first introduced in 1995, were inspired by the spirit and character of England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. The Ladies of the British Isles were designed by one of Royal Doultons most celebrated artists, Valerie Annand. Made of the finest bone china, they were modeled and hand-finished with all the care and craftsmanship for which Royal Doulton is renowned. Even the most intricate details were painstakingly recreated, from the tiniest cameo brooch or buckle on a shoe, to bonnets, petticoats and bows. Each figure in the collection was hand-decorated with the utmost of delicacy.
