54 photographs, most fit page frame of 19x12 cm (3½x4½"), with some smaller portraits of varying sizes. 14.5x17.3 cm (5¾x6¾"), red cloth, lettering in silver gilt.
Documents the career of Robert Perry Bryan, a young electrical engineer, and his wife Junietta as he worked to rebuild the Bunker Hill Mine in 1900 following a dynamite blast, labor strike, and riot in April, 1899. Annotated and captioned extensively though some of the markings are faded. Photo subjects include destroyed mine buildings, national guard encampments, the Kellogg tramway, the mine, scenery and pictures of friends and family and their homes. Lock of hair laid in.
Condition
Front joint tender, light rubbing to ends of spine, silver gilt slightly flaked off; hinges cracked, some small edge tears to paper frames, glue stains along both hinges; very good.
