Jack Kerouac Personally Owned Boxed Set of 8 Great Books
A Great Books Foundation, Fourth Year Course, 8-volume boxed set of classic selections from world literature, personally owned by famous mid-century writer Jack Kerouac (1922-1969). Each volume is stamped on the front fly leaf with both the Jack Kerouac Estate stamp, in addition to the raised blind seal from Executer of the Estate, John Sampas. Provenance: The boxed set will be accompanied by our Certificate of Authentication as well as an estate certification signed by John Shen-Sampas, executer of the Kerouac Estate. John Shen-Sampas is the son of John Sampas, friend and brother-in-law of Jack Kerouac, and the brother of Stella Kerouac, Jack’s wife.
Published in Chicago, Illinois in 1956, the paperback books show scattered foxing and discoloration to the covers, spines, and inner pages. Underlines and margin notes in an unknown hand are interspersed throughout the texts. The front endpapers of Volume I, Volume V's back cover, and a piece of notepaper stuck inside Volume VIII have been copiously annotated in the same unknown hand. The 12vo. volumes are contained in a sturdy boxed set showing considerable wear. The boxed set measures 5" wide x 7.25" high x 4.75" deep.
