Description
Chinese Propaganda Hand Colored Woodcut 1975 from the Chinese Cultural Revolution. "Spring Hoeing of Rice Fields" by Chinese artist, Lan (Li Fenglan), from an edition of 1000 copies. Li Fenglan (1933, Huxian, Shaanxi Province) . After winning the national art prize in 1966 at the start of the Cultural Revolution , she was a representative of the Huxian peasant painters, she was inspired by the various aspects of rural production. "Spring hoeing", one of her most famous works, is part of the collection of the Shanghai Museum. Ms. Li has been a representative at the National People's Congress and a member of the National Political Committee. Later she was a member of the Chinese Artists Association and vice-chairman of the Huxian Association of Peasant Painting. In frame with brocade mat 25"x35"x1". Weight 11 pds.
