Magnificent large wooden toy carousel automation. Carousel was hand carved by an Italian immigrant whose name is carved on the unit. All the 6 central panels are large hand carved American scenes such as George Washington crossing the Delaware and Huckleberry Finn and 4 others. Each animal figure is also hand carved and hand painted. The carousel is 40 inches in diameter and the carousel rotates and the animals go up and down and there are lights and music. Carousel works perfectly and is a tremendous showpiece. I was told that the carverÂ’s neighbors said it took 8 years to build. Beautiful working condition. 110 volt motor. Everything is there in great condition and no broken parts. The music with the mp5 player included is however not perfect as there must be a loose wire to the built-in speakers as the mp5 unit must be held just right now to get the music. Should be easily fixed to perfection. Not every light lights up and I have not used the light programmer to see why. Each light is a colored Christmas light and easily replaced. The carousel comes apart in 3 pieces for shipping. When received the carousel was in a wood crate and weighed 340 pounds and dimensions of the crate were 48”x48”x53”. The carousel is 40” high and diameter of carousel is 36”. The base is 31”x31”x24”. Hand carved and hand painted animals. Animals each 5” long and 4” high. The 11 celluloid dolls were separately purchased to go with the carousel, and they sit in the chariot seats and look like a period piece. Dolls are 5-7” tall.
