Description
Rockland (Tupa), Mae, (American, b.1937), Do Not Forget, undated (c.1975), etching on paper, signed and numbered 1/25 at bottom, with full title "And when we are all mad, you must go through the streets shouting: 'Do not Forget,'", 17.5 x 12 inches, matted and framed 27 x 20.5 inches. A powerful piece that alludes to the atrocities of the Holocaust. Mae Rockland lived in Princeton, NJ, where her work was exhibited at the Nassau Gallery and she taught graphic arts at the Princeton Art Association, she is perhaps best known as the author of the groundbreaking book "The Work of Our Hands: Jewish Needlecraft for Today" in 1973.
Condition
