N.S., `Bonaparte´, one page, small 4to, Mortefontaine, 17th April 1801, to Citizen Caille, in French. Joseph acknowledges good receipt of the `ode for peace that you have kindly sent to me, I will read it with interest..´ With blank address leaf, and two blind embossed seals to the front page. Together with Julie Clary (1771-1845) Spouse of Joseph Bonaparte. A.N.S., `Julie´, one page, 8vo, n.p., n.d., to her sister Désirée Clary, in French. Julie Clary states `Joseph asks me to tell you my dear Désirée that citizen Garot can return home. His affair is fully finished..´ With annotation in another hand reporting on citizen Garrau. With address leaf, addressed to the verso by Julie to her sister `To citizen Bernadotte´. G, 2 £200-300 Désirée Clary (1777-1860) Queen of Sweden and Norway as Queen consort of King Charles XIV, former General Bernadotte. Mother of King Oscar I.
