SN 40923. 27" barrel bolt action 7.7mm rifle. Japanese Arisaka Type 99. Retains intact chrysanthemum on receiver, Japanese arsenal markings on left side of receiver, original wire bipod, bayonet lug, dust cover, cleaning rod, rarer anti-aircraft tangent rear sight with "wings" on either side. Intact mum and dust cover are especially nice in condition. Metal parts of this rifle are very nice, but the stock shows considerable but honest service and field wear with many nicks and gouges to the stock, especially on the left and underside of the forward grip below the rear sight and near the bayonet lug. This rifle does not appear to have been marked for import. Appears to be an honest GI bring back from World War II. Bore very good with strong rifling, action flawless, finish approximately 95% with light muzzle wear and wear at the action. Very Good*
