Jonathan Edwards was an 18th-century American preacher and revivalist known for his Puritan reforms and colonial influence in the shaping of the First Great Awakening.
In 1739, Edwards preached a series of 30 sermons based on one passage from Isaiah 51.
These sermons would later be published as a book entitled History of the Work of Redemption, Edwards proclamation of Gods salvation.
