Fascinating and revealing look at the commerce of a general store in the Placer County town of Foresthill, a mining community first settled in 1850, and by 1880 one of the largest towns in Placer County. Evidently an account book, for purchases possibly on credit, with the buyers named, what they bought, and for how much. The products include tobacco, sardines, butter, rope, nails, milk, axe handles, coffee, whiskey, wine, ginger snaps, school books, potatoes, soap, lard, ham, and much more. A label on the cover indicates it covered from Aug. 19 to Dec. 11, 1892.

Condition
