French Napoleon III Brass and Porcelain Figural Mantle Clock. D-Shaped form, modeled with figure of a woman emblematic of Trade and Plenty, seated on a cylindrical clock by a ship's prow and an overflowing cornucopia spilling coins near an anchor. The lower base inset with SÈvres-style turquoise-ground porcelain plaques painted with floral wreaths and garlands. Porcelain clock-face with black Roman numerals. '4505' to the movement reverse, 'S.G.D.G. Durand' also to the movment reverse. Illegible markings to case reverse. Rolletz FrÈres, Blvd. St. Denis, Paris. France, Circa 1870. {Approximate dimensions: 18 1/2 high x 17 wide x 5 3/4 inches deep.}. Condition: Lacking doors to the dial and movement, lacking pendulum. Some patina to the gilt metal.
