Description
Pastel on paper 12 x 12 in. (sight), 20 1/2 x 20 1/2 in. (framed). From askart.com: Terry Ludwig received his formal art education under William Mosby and Joseph Vanden Broucke at the American Academy of Art in Chicago. His work has been featured in galleries throughout the Rocky Mountain Region and hangs in many private collections. His work focuses on "life," he says. "I enjoy live models and scenes that capture life.""I like to capture a spirit in my art, whether it is a personality, a feeling inspired by nature or even a humorous experience. It's true of the way I relate to people, too. I am spirited and enjoy other people's unique natures."Terry has taught art in government programs, and demonstrated his realistic style at the Colorado Institute of Art and the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design. He is currently teaching pastel portraiture at the Curtice School of Art in Littleton, Colorado. A charter member of the Art Student's League of Denver, he continues to actively participate in the League's activities and training programs.Terry grew up in suburban Chicago, the son of a steel mill worker. In high school, he began formal training and knew he wished to pursue a career in the art world. In 1972, he moved his family to Denver to open an insurance agency and to be closer to the outdoors he wished to capture in his art. He worked in the insurance field for 25 years, and then turned his attention to the to the work he truly loves... the world of art!
