Description
R. Vanloo, "Still Life of Roses in a Black Pottery Vase," early 20th c., oil on canvas, presented in a gilt frame, H.- 19 in., W.- 27 in.
Condition
Condition is consistent with age. There is paint flecking visible on upper proper right corner, as well as around the border of the painting. At the top of the painting, there are three 1 inch lines due to some kind of canvas warping. Directly below one of these lines, there is a circular tear on the canvas with what looks like a lighter green marker drawn in to cover hole. On the bottom proper left side, there is a rectangular tear, approximately 2-3 inches high by 1 inch wide. Additionally, there are a collection of white marks in the middle of the bouquet. A charming example.
