Rare Art Deco Silver & Goldstone Watch Fob Chain- Machine Age Design. This rare, Early Deco-era watch fob chain is in wonderful condition. There is a soft patina to the silver which contrasts nicely with the sparkly genuine Goldstone inserts. There is minimal surface wear to the fob chain. There is a dark patina and surface wear to the terminal brass spring ring closure and the second brass ring. In keeping with the Art Deco "Machine Age" theme, this fob chain is designed like a train track and comprised or reticulated stations each holding "wheels" of Goldstone set into tiny frames. The workmanship is exceptional and, to date, we have yet to come across a similar piece. Note: several of the track links are slightly compressed/pinched. We believe these could be easily widened back to their original form by a jeweler. As such the fob is being sold AS IS. The brass spring ring closure is in good working condition, snaps back crisply and closes securely. The silver clip is also in good working order. There is a hallmark on its spine which we were unable to identify, but believe to be Eastern European in origin. This rare fob tests for a low grade silver, but is not 925. It is approximately 11"L end to end x 1/2"W and weighs 25 gms. Provenance: Private Estate.
