Moore Silver Porringer for Tiffany & Co., New York, circa 1870 Marks: TIFFANY & CO., 1918, QUALITY 925-1000, 5188, M 2-1/2 x 6 x 7-1/2 inches (6.4 x 15.2 x 19.1 cm) 7.7 troy ounces The porringer was gifted to Florence Jaffrey who would later be remembered as an American socialite, leader in the suffrage movement, 8th United States Minister to Norway, and social reformer, having an impact on exposing harsh working conditions in New York City's manufacturing and service industries. The porringer with cast and applied inscribed arabesque style applied handle with bud finial, inscribed Florence Jaffrey Hurst from her Grandmother Annail Jaffrey Christmas 1870.
