Pair of tubular steel and leather cantilever armchairs, sling style with painted wood arm supports. Unmarked. Cantilever chairs such of these were explored by numerous avante garde designers of the 1930s including Mart Stam, Marcel Breuer, Mies Van Der Rohe, and Le Corbusier. Condition: Some minor oxidation to chair frames, some wear to paint on wooden arms. 34" H x 23" W x 21" D. Circa 1930. Deaccessioned by the Knoxville Museum of Art to benefit the acquisitions fund.
