Description
Exquisite 19th Century hand crafted solid oak ships wall cabinet, by Goodall, Lamb and Highway. Antique cabinet constructed of original ships timbers and metal salvage from the HMS Foundroyant (Royal Navy, 1798) Ornately crafted in the style of the stern from the Founderyant. Adorned with copper scroll mounts and cameo portrait plaque of an earnest looking Lord Nelson. Flanked by copper mounted finials, over double glazed doors, with copper stap work and laurel wreaths to a sized and glazed quarter gallery with sections to both sides. Lower left, interior copper plaque reads "This Cabinet is constructed of oak and copper from HMS Foudroyant, Lord Nelson's Flagship, 1799-1800, Wrecked off Blackpool, 1893. Wall Cabinet approximate 65 in. x 58 in. x 15 in. Good condition, with normal age wear and patina to hardware. Hill Auction Gallery will not ship.
