Encased Postage Stamps
Three Cents "TAKE AYER'S PILLS" With Silvering EP-33
EP-33, HB-18, S-19, Reed-AP03. Three Cents. TAKE AYER'S PILLS. Silvered Reverse. Choice About New.
Rated as Rarity-1 (Common) according to Fred Reed. An extremely pleasing example where significant original Silvering remains prominent upon the reverse with only modest circulation noted. The clear unbroken mica has only some faint hairlines from friction being essentially invisible to the eye. The deep red George Washington stamp is well centered and a bit high with the color bold and attractive. The case is a natural chestnut, its reverse being coated with about 80% of the Silvering retained. A high quality, premium example with lots of eye appeal.
