Lady with Lorgnette Musical Automaton by Leopold Lambert, c. 1895
With unmarked Jumeau bisque portrait head, closed mouth, fixed brown paperweight eyes, pierced ears with earrings, original blonde mohair wig (not removed for inspection), shapely papier-mâché body with bisque shoulder plate and hands, seated on velvet-covered base containing going-barrel movement and two-air cylinder movement that causes the lady to look from side to side, rotate her fan, lift the lorgnette and cross her right leg, dressed in probably original gold satin ball gown trimmed with black lace, metal-thread and flowers, mantilla and beaded dancing slippers, ht. 17 ½ in. (45 cm), chip on left ear piercing hole, missing one fingertip, sections of the skirt fragile, head lift inactive, otherwise good unrestored working and playing condition. With partial tune-sheet, pierced brass "LB" key and stop/start. A seldom-seen Lambert automaton with particularly beautiful Jumeau bisque head. - Provenance: Collection of José Mario Armero.

Mit unbezeichnetem Kopf aus Biskuitporzellan von Jumeau, geschlossener Mund, feststehende braune Paperweight-Augen, durchstochene Ohrläppchen mit Ohrringen, blonde Original-Mohairperücke (nicht zur Kontrolle entfernt), formschöner Pappmaché-Körper mit Biskuitporzellan-Schulterplatte und -Händen, sitzend auf samtüberzogenem Sockel mit Federwerkmotor und Walzenspielwerk für 2 Melodien. - Die Dame schaut von einer Seite zur anderen, dreht den Fächer, hebt die Lorgnette hoch und überkreuzt ihr rechtes Bein, gekleidet in ein möglicherweise originales goldenes Satin-Ballkleid mit schwarzer Spitze, Metallfäden und Blumen, Mantilla und Tanzschuhen mit Perlenbesatz, Höhe 45 cm, Abplatzung am linken Ohrloch, eine Fingerspitze fehlt, Teile des Rocks fragil, Anhebung des Kopfes inaktiv, ansonsten guter unrestaurierter und funktionierender Zustand. Mit Original-Melodienblatt (beschädigt) und "LB"-Messingschlüssel. Ein seltener Lambert-Automat mit besonders schönem Jumeau-Kopf. - Provenienz: Sammlung von José Mario Armero.
