Catalogue of the Library of the late Richard Heber, Esq., 13 parts, the odd instance of pricing and buyer's names in ink, part 1 lacking title (?and other preliminaries), occasional spotting or staining, part 13 title foxed, parts 1-11 original boards, all but 2 parts with original printed label to upper covers, part 1 lacking upper cover and backstrip, part 6 lower cover all but detached, backstrips worn to varying degrees, rubbed, part 12 original wrappers with printed label to upper wrapper, part 13 contemporary wrappers, detached, [De Ricci p.102], 8vo, Sotheby & Son (parts I-III, IX, X), Evans (parts IV, VI-VIII, XI), Wheatley (parts V, XII, XIII), 1834-1837. Sold not subject to return.

'The Dibdinian age may be aptly said to terminate with the dispersal of the gigantic library accumulated by Richard Heber (1773-1833), a bibliomaniac if ever there was one... From 1800 to 1830, he purchased at every London sale, either in his own name or through agents like Triphook and Thorpe...' (De Ricci). The sales comprised 54,208 lots.
