Description

Pencil signed etching 6 3/4 x 4 3/4 in. (plate), 16 1/2 x 13 1/2 in. (framed). Painter, etcher, born in Oak Park, Illinois on May 8, 1893. Robbins studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. During the 1920s he maintained a studio-home in San Francisco and further studied at the California School of Fine Arts under Macky and Randolph.Robbins was a resident of Los Angeles in 1929, Berkeley in 1936, and by 1940 had moved to Westborough, Massachusetts. He died in January 1974.Member: Calif. Mm. Painters; Calif. Society of Etchers; Calif. PM. Exh: San Francisco Art Association, 1921. Fld; WWAA 1936-41; AAA 1921; CD; SS.
