Oil on canvas, 30 x 24 in. (76.2 x 61.0 cm), framed.
Condition: Subtle canvas deformation, craquelure, surface grime.
N.B. Based on photographs in the Smithsonian Archives of American Art digital collection, the sitter appears to be Marie Sterner Lintott (1880-1953).(1) She was a prominent Manhattan art dealer and gallery owner who exhibited such European and American modernists as Paul Cezanne and George Bellows. She married Edward B. Lintott in 1932, after her divorce from the artist Albert Sterner. (2)
