Description
An interesting Greek red-figure hydria, c. 5th Century NC, depicting two women, each wearing long chiton and himation, an elaborate floral element between them. The woman on the right looks back at the woman behind and holds a box in her right hands, fillets streaming below. An ovolo band borders the scene below and another ovolo band around base of the neck. H: 5 in (12.7 cm). Some surface weathering and losses to one handle. Ex UK private collection acquired in 1912 at local auction, thence by descent.
