The following items were acquired by Larry Donley as part of the Clarence Ferguson Collection. Clarence Ferguson was the last authorized Edison Dealer in the U.S. According to Mr. Ferguson’s recorded interview with Leo Kimmett in September 1968, Ferguson started working at the Edison Company in 1907. How Mr. Ferguson acquired these items is unknown. In the interview he stated that when the Phonograph Plant closed down in New Jersey, everything was hauled out to the ‘meadows’ and dumped. This included record molds, equipment and parts. It is assumed that they were acquired by Mr. Ferguson at this time. Rather than piece out the items individually, Larry has decided to keep them as he had acquired them, as one lot.
