Description
Pair of French 19th Century Porcelain Cobalt Blue and Gilt Vases. The vase of trumpet form, moulded in high relief with gilt horse chestnuts, with the chestnuts in single and clusters on branches, with foliage, draping in Art Nouveau style, toward the bases. Signed near the base, Peaudecerf et Girault in gilt enamel. Tours, France. Circa 1885-1890. 20" H. x 9" Diameter at Bases. The gilt decoration hides a couple of divots or glaze blow outs to the surface. No chips, cracks, very light signs of wear or usage.
